John 4:50

Believe It Before You See It

Why do you believe? Take a minute and really think about it.

John 4:46–54 — the story of the nobleman and his dying son. He came looking for Jesus because he had heard, and he came asking Jesus to heal his son. He wanted him to come down to where the son was and heal him. I understand that request. We want Jesus to be present. Lay hands on. We want to see the results that we are so desperate for. If we see it, we believe it. Faith requires that we believe it before we see it. Claim it before we hold it.

Jesus seems a bit frustrated with that mentality. This story takes a big turn when Jesus tells him to go — his son is healed. The man believed what Jesus said and started home. He had not seen it. Did not hold the miracle in his hands. But he turned and headed home, because he believed.

This is a big deal. If we pray for miracles, we had better believe they have happened. We might not feel them, see them, or witness them in the flesh — but believe. That is the thing that activates your miracle.

I hope. I pray. I ask. Again and again and again. I believe. Lord, help my unbelief.

As believers we are told that ANYTHING we ask the Father within his will is already done. Our job is to truly believe it and head home — knowing our prayers have been answered.

Love, Pam
